John Antill:

With my father in Lamsdorf were also Alfred Donald Pickering, William Massam and Victor Barnet. Like my father they are all now deceased. Here are a number of photographs – those that I can see my father and his friends on are identified in the file title as is the date when the photo was taken, as written on the back of the original print. The four handwritten documents are the Long March to Freedom route from my father’s effects together with a note his friend “Picky” (A D Pickering) wrote.

Antill’s march, along with a number of others, are featured on the Lamsdorf Long March Map.
