PRISONER OF WAR
COMMEMORATIVE SCROLLS
Let those who come after see to it
see that his name be not forgotten.
A permanent commemoration of a relative or friend who was a Prisoner of War.
Printed on parchment paper, with or without a photograph, whichever you choose
(without photo, the print will be slightly larger).
The scroll includes the name, nationality and national flag of the person named,
the service, regiment, squadron, unit etc in which he served,
the dates and camp(s) of imprisonment.
For those who died as prisoners of war, this will also be commemorated on the scroll.
(The actual scroll is brighter in colour than the representation above.)
The wording is based on that of the scroll designed to commemorate servicemen of the First World War:
He whom this scroll commemorates
was numbered among those who,
at the call of King and Country, left all that was dear to them
endured hardness, faced danger, and finally passed out of the sight of men by the path of duty
and self sacrifice, giving up their own lives that others might live in freedom.
Let those who come after see to it
that his name be not forgotten.
This scroll is ideal for anyone who is proud of their relative who was a prisoner of war, and wishes to have some permanent commemoration on display. It would also make a suitable gift for presentation to a surviving for prisoner of war.
Many countries (including the UK) have no official medal or other award to recognise the service of former prisoners of war, and the hardships they suffered. They served as well as any of their comrades in arms.
The scroll is A4 size and comes unframed or framed.
The prices include postage and packing.
At the moment it is not possible to send framed scrolls to addresses outside the UK.

FLAGS
There were POWs of many nationalities in the Stalags. Below is a selection of flags, but it is possible to have virtually any flag, current or historic, on your scroll (remember that some national flags have changed since the second world war, so you might need to decide whether to have the current flag or the flag as the POWs would have known it during the 1940s).
