GETTING HERE
By Car
The Museum does not have a car park.
There are two National Car Parks (NCP) within walking distance of the People's History Museum:

They are fairly new car parks and are not shown by a P sign on the maps above.

1. Spinningfields Car Park, Spinningfields, New Quay Street, Manchester M3 3BE.

On the lower map above, it is between New Quay Street and Water Street, just before Irwell Street Bridge.

​By Rail
1. Salford Central Station is a 2 minute walk from the Museum.
2. Manchester Piccadilly (then 10 mins on free Metroshuttle 1, 2 or 3)
The Metroshuttle stops near the People's History Museum are:
No 1: Byrom Street - that's near the Opera House on the lower map above (3 min walk)
No 2: John Rylands Library, Deansgate  - this is clearly marked on the lower map above, a little to the south-east of the Museum (4 min walk)
No 3: Byrom Street in peak times only; Mon-Fri, 7.25am – 9.30am & 4.30pm – 7.20pm (3 min walk) / John Dalton Street (5 min walk)

By Coach
Manchester is served by National Express and Megabus coaches.

National Express coaches arrive at the 
Central Coach Station, Chorlton St, Manchester M1 3JF
This is a little to the left of Piccadilly Railway Station on the upper map above.
From the Coach Station walk (2 or 3 minutes) to 
Parker Street, Piccadilly Gardens, which you can see on the upper map above, just a little way north of the Coach Station. From bus stop 'N' in Parker Street, take the 39 bus to Bridge Street (stop WW). You get off at the Law Courts, which are just opposite the People's History Museum. The bus journey takes about 5 minutes.

Megabus coaches arrive at Manchester Shudehill Coach Station (also called Shudehill Interchange), Shudehill, Manchester M4 2AF
From Shudhill Coach Station take the number 8 bus (the final destination of the bus (but not you!) is Bolton) to Bridge Street (stop WW). You get off at the Law Courts, which are just opposite the People's History Museum. The bus journey takes about 6 minutes.

By Air
