Stalag IIE Schwerin

At the start of the Second World War, in October 1939, the Nazis opened Stalag IIE, intended for prisoners of war who were forced to work in the arms industry and the food industry. The detainees were kept in barracks, the largest of which was at Stern Buchholz . The Soviet prisoners were malnourished and were engaged in the hazardous work of construction of an airfield at Görries and a German army camp at Stern-Buchholz. In view of the inhuman working conditions, there were many casualties.
