My father Harry Aldous Pte 5571073 1st Battalion Royal Worcs POW 14766.
He is listed on Worcestershire site as captured in 1942. This is incorrect, he was captured in 1940 at Dunkirk.

Recently on the Facebook page he was on a photo dated 1941 at Lamsdorf in a Coal Mine party. He was a POW for 5 years until repatriation. My mother was sent a letter from Shrewsbury records office in July 1940 stating that he was missing killed in action, but he had in fact been captured.

Please include as much information and pictures as you can so that we can create a record of each man’s experience. With tens of thousands of POW records already on site please help us if you can by including at least one of the following: service number, POW number or date of birth.
