My grand father was a prisoner of war at Stalag VIIIB.

DoB 11/2/1913 Lived in Rochdale, Lancashire.  Captured 28/10/1941.  He was a Gunner, British Army, Royal Artillery, No 1 Maritime Anti-Aircraft Battery.  Other Regimental Information: Roslea.  Service No. 3651869.  Archive Reference WO344/7790 Seniority Date 18/1/1932.

Was imprisoned in the following camps:

  • Dulag – from October until December 1941;
  • Marlag und Milag Nord, from December, 1941 until August, 1942;
  • Stalag VIIIB, from August, 1942 until February, 1945;
  • Stalag VIIIC – from February till March, 1945;

He was at the following work camps:

  • Griffenberg – from November, 1942 till August, 1943

  • at Stone Quarry, Bad Neustadt – from March, 1945 till April, 1945 on Farm.
