Philip H. Avery

I’m doing research to realize a monument or a memory plaque at Vire, Calvados Normandy for the fallen heroes on 26th June 1942, the crew of Whitley Mk V, Z9282 of the 138 Squadron RAF.

4 men of the crew were killed and are buried at the Vire New Communal Cemetery in Normandy and one of them became POW, Sgt Philip H. Avery. He was interned in Stalag VIIIB Lamsdorf /Stalag 344, POW no. 27035

I’m trying to trace Sgt Avery or his family to know more about him.

I understood that you don’t have information about him when he’s not on your list on your website and I hope to give you details soon. Congratulations with your website, kindest regards,
