I would like to add my dad’s name to the list of prisoner of war names: 

Private Tommy Blackwood, 16796. 

My dad was in the 51st division of the Cameron Highlanders and was captured at Saint Valery in 1940. He was a prisoner of war in Stalag VIIIB for five years.

Hi Philip – the Lamsdorf discussion group is a great website. I got a lovely surprise, I received a message from a girl named Eileen: while cleaning out her dad’s attic she found 2 postcards, one postcard from her dad Billy to my dad and a reply from my dad, Thomas Blackwood, from Stalag v111b in 1942. Great to read the postcard Eileen e mailed on to me – amazing 72yrs ago! Thanks for all the information.
