My father was in Stalag VIIIB from 15 July 1940 until the end of the war. He was captured near Incheville around the 14 June. He was in A coy, 1/5th Bn, Sherwood Foresters and became part of A Brigade, Beauman Division when the 51st Div and the lines of communication troops (which he was part of) were cut off by the German advance and continued to fight after the evacuation of Dunkirk.

He was Bernard Cookson, Service Number 4976340. His POW Records show him working at Eichberg Kr. Bunzlau from 3.8.40 then at
E.82 Winzenberg then E372 (here for nearly 2 years), E770 and E799.
