My father was taken prisoner in August of 1941 at Dieppe. He was part of the Canadian Forces that took part in the invasion. He spent time in Stalag IID and was moved a short time later to Stalag VIIIB. He remained in Stalag VIIIB until he was forced to participate in the Death March.
