My late father Francis Ernest Gooch was a prisoner of war at Stalag 344. He was captured at El Meir on the 22nd of July 1942 during the desert campaign. He was initially sent to Italy after capture, firstly to Campo PG 85 then to Campo PG 57. I believe he arrived at Stalag 344 in early May 1944.

He served with the 25th Battalion 2NZEF. His service number was 45254.

Could he please be added to the list of NZ POWs incarcerated at Stalag 344.
