From Janet Jolly 10/09/2023.

Dad came to NZ when he was 9. He was in the first training group of pilots to go to WW2 at Wigram, Christchurch, New Zealand. He was later asked if he wanted to join the NZ squadron  but had established himself at N.40 squadron.

He did run the ATC in Palmerston North.  From the early 5O’s for 15 years. He was also a founding member of Palmerston north aero club. Much to my mother’s horror he took me up in a Tiger Moth at the age of 3. They were certainly very brave men.  I have been to the memorial twice to the WW2 bommer pilots at green Park in London.
