I have my Dad’s diary of his long march west starting I think in Lamsdorf, then on to Gorlitz, ending up in Ziegenhaim (Stalag IXA). According to his diary it commenced on Monday the 22nd of January and ended on Monday the 12th of March. There is no mention of his start point by name, the only clue is his first stop in the diary 23kms in distance Friedwalde.

His name was Albert Edward Mitchell 51st H.A.A Regt. R.A. And he was captured on Crete 1941.

Peter Mitchell
