Subject: incorrect initial for Gordon Poole, Canadian POW stalag VIIIB

My husband’s uncle’s name was Gordon Harold Poole.
This is his service number and address. Note that his initials are incorrect on the list taken from the logbook of Joseph Moscowitz:

POOLE, PTE. GORDON K.
H.Q.COY B67376 POW 26464 1201 BROADVIEW AVE. TORONTO

Also his friend and cousin Sgt George Pettigrew listed as

PETTYSON?, SGT. GEO H.Q. COY B67136 POW 26530 23 SALISBURY AVE. TORONTO

George Pettigrew was also captured at Dieppe and lived at this address.

Poole died at Stalag IID Stargard on 10 February 1945 and is buried at Krakow Rakowicki Cemetery.

He was a friend and cousin of George Pettigrew. Both of their names appear in logbook of Joseph Moskowitz.
