My father, Frank Adams Lt Royal Tank regiment, Army no: 71620 was in PG 49 Fontanellato. After spending nearly a year on the run, 10 months of it in and around the villages of Magliano and Ponteccio ( Sillano-Guincugnano commune, Garfagnana, Lucca province, Tuscany) he was guided through the Apuan Alps to the American lines near Massa by a partisan, samuele danti, who is still alive and living in Australia.
The full list of the inmates of PG 49 as of August 1943 is in the back of the book “Home by Christmas” by Ian English, just being republished by the Monte san Martino Trust.  I recommend that you get the new edition if you do not already have the original.
On behalf of the Institute of the Resistance of Lucca I am looking for ex-inmates of PG 60 which was closed down in 1942.
