I have been carrying out some research regarding a 6144294 L/Cpl Ronald Holme of the East Surrey Regt. He enlisted 15th Sep. 1939 and was an Electrical Engineer before the war.

I believe he was taken prisoner at or before Dunkirk as his medal entitlement is limited to 1939-45 Star and War Medal. His Army Release Book states his military conduct was Exemplary and his testimonial states “Has held a general duty N.C.O. in the unit. Is thoroughly conscientious in his work”.

He was discharged at 65 Transit Camp, Shorncliffe. His release leave expired on 28th Mar. 1946

There is no mention in his papers of being a POW but he is found on the Ancestry website of POW from WW2.

Should I discover any further information I will pass it on asap.
