Subject: Stalag VIIIBI have just reviewed my Fathers War record and it says he was transferred to Stalag VIIIB on 15/07/40 from Stalag VIB and says he was wounded.
His POW number is 18164 and full name Eric Herbert Johnson born on 11/10/1920.
I did find Eric Johnson on the names page with reference to the Clarion, but I believe this is a different Eric as my father was in the Artillery.
367/140 Field Regiment Royal Artillery.
I know he took part in the Long Walk at the end of the war from Poland as he drew a map for my children when they were doing GCSE’s
He never spoke about his time as a POW. I believe he was captured trying to get back to Dunkirk.
