I would like to add my uncle’s name to the list of Lamsdorf POWs.
Stanley Philip Thorpe, 2nd Battalion Manchester regiment. Service number 3532417.

He failed to get back to Dunkirk in time to be repatriated. He lived with a French farming family until his capture in 1940. Then, I believe, a number of pow camps. Finally, Stalag VIIIB Lamsdorf. Repatriated 10 February 1945.
