Russell Dale

My father Horrie Dale was a driver with the NZ Petrol Company. He was in Greece and evacuated to Crete after the fall of Greece. In 1941 he was captured and transported to Stalag VIIIB where he worked in coal mines. He was there until January 1945 until he was marched west across Czechoslovakia and liberated near Regensberg or Landshut in Germany. My wife and I visited the museum at the site of the Stalag VIIIB camp in September 2008. A sobering experience. My father lived until he was 89 and only passed away in 2004. Any details of the march would be welcome.
