Private Kenneth F Floodgate 5773491 7th battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment camp number 7732.

Father died 11 years ago and was never fond of speaking about his experiences.   He was 19 when captured at St Valery.

I have been informed by the Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum in Norwich that he was most probably in the 7th Batt., otherwise he would have been in the 2nd Norfolks, which of course were badly treated by the SS but I do remember him saying that he met Rommel, (probably not in person but I believe Rommel commanded the assailing force at St Valery?)
