Francis James Speake is my father who died in Shrewsbury Hospital in 1970.

I do not have any memories of my father, I believe he was part of “Operation Market Garden” during September 1944.

The only record I have is that he was taken prisoner and interned in Stalag 344 Lamsdorf, POW Number 2906.

He was in the Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry who were part of the 1st Airborne Brigade in 1944.

However it would appear that he was recorded as Pioneer Corp in POW records for Stalag 344.

His service number 2187451.
