Edward Brennan is my late father, he died 6/6/1978.
From enlistment in 1928 to July 1936 he served with the 2nd Bn. York and Lancaster Regiment in India, transferring to to the Army Reserve on his return to the U.K.
He was called up at the outbreak of WWII and was transferred immediately to the 1st Bn. Princess Louise’s Kensington Regiment (Middlesex Regiment), joining up with his new Regiment at Ilminster in Somerset before embarking for France in April 1940.
He, like many POWs spent time in a number of different camps and working parties including those at: Warthelager, Kuhndorf, Andreshof, Gornau & Bytom.
