Subject: Canadian POW list Stalag VIIIB 

My grandfather’s name was William J.S. Pratt of the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada, POW No. H-19041, based here in Winnipeg, Canada and was captured in 1942 in Dieppe.  He passed away when I was quite young in 1970.  After the war he came back from Europe and worked for the Canadian National Railway.  His health unfortunately was never the same after his experiences in the camp and died of heart failure at the early age of 51 I believe.

I managed to locate his personal journal from his days as a POW.

Here is the list of other QOCH Canadians he was close to during his stay at Stalag VIIIB: (The list is shown below).

There appears to be much more detail with respect home addresses of POWs of other nationalities within the journal.
