Information provided by Trevor Ward:

My father, Alan Ward was a New Zealander who worked as an orderly in Lucca. He:
• was with the New Zealand army,
• was in the Field Ambulance,
• was captured by the Germans at the Battle of Sidi Rezegh in Libya,
• was a POW in P.G. 52 Chiavari (I visited the site of the camp around 1976)  and
then worked as an orderly in a POW hospital in Lucca – it was in a monastery so assume it was P.G. 202.
I have his written story about his war experience plus various camp mementos including a cartoon illustration of the camp.
